How do we achieve our goals in life? How do we stay focus to our goals? You might be twenty or twenty five still young ambitious with a set of goals to achieve in your life but before YOU CAN EVEN NOTICE IT, you are now forty or fifty your dreams start fading away, you haven't achieved any thing.... How can you AVOID THIS FROM HAPPENING? People who are clueless about how the world works, people who spend their whole lives on the outside looking in, use myth as a comforting excuse for their own lack of goal attainment. Some will go even far to blame the position of stars and planets for their failures. Once you spend even a little time with successful people, you'll notice something startling: they all have well defined goals which they focus on. They go after the things they want and nail them like a wild dog chasing a rabbit.
Give and it will be given to you in a like manner. Even more. You can have everything in life you want if you'll just help enough other people to get what they want (Zig Ziglar). As a young entrepreneur who’s hungry for success, it’s easier to think of yourself as a go-getter. Somebody that walks through fires to acquire more. More money, especially. But the whole equation is totally messed up. An entrepreneur who gets rich in the long run is one who has mastered the principle of sharing. This principle has governed the human race for ages. Nothing scientific about it. Just the ability to open up your heart and give
Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies within us while we live (Norman Cousins). On which side of these crazy excuses are you? Oh I am not educated, Oh I don't have enough money, Oh I don't have connections, Oh I am too late!!! As it stands now, an average individual has their life mapped like this: Go to school. Get good marks. Graduate and land a lousy job with a reputable company. Chase the last Friday of the Monday until the day you get the news that the company is laying you off. Get your provisional funds get out. Sounds easy and nice, doesn't it?
When it comes to the laws that govern success, nothing else matters than this statement: Try and fail, but don't fail to try. These little eight words are at the heart of this blog. They mirror our ethos. You will never achieve anything amazing until the day you start trying and fail over and over and get over it to try again. And again. That guiding principle was the star that guided legendary entrepreneurs like Thomas Edison. Today we are basking under an electric bulb which Thomas kept trying to build but failed more than nine hundred times. That's 999 times, to be exact. How many South Africans do you know who can fail twenty times and keep going?
Potential is a dangerous word because when you first embark on your career in entrepreneurship, you NEED to hear it all the time. You NEED that validation from the outside world. And when you get it, it’s like swallowing a magic pill that makes all your problems go away. I’m telling you, I’ve lived through this, it means EVERYTHING to hear a customer, or an investor, or your Mama, or basically ANYONE say, in plain English, that your business idea has potential. Why do so many talented people end up living such MEDIOCRE lives?
How will you feel when you spend months of pain and sweat to open your business and suddenly you find out that nobody is interested into your product than what you anticipated? What will you do? Keep carrying on and hope things will get better soon as your customers will get used to you? For how long will you carry on? Many new businesses fail before they could even start because their creators failed to identify an unmet need in the market and verify the viability of their concepts beforehand. Your time and money are extremely valuable to you. You can't afford to waste them by investing them in producing a product or service that fails in the marketplace. The more you test your product before you produce and sell it, the more likely you are to earn the sales and profits that you desire.
